Due to forecasted high fire risk conditions in your area, SDG&E will likely need to shut off power for safety overnight to reduce the risk of a wildfire.
Please take precautions and know that we are here to support you throughout this time. We will continue to provide you with regular updates until the risk has passed, or power is restored.
What you need to know:
- Weather forecasts can change quickly, so please continue to monitor your phone and email for updates.
- If power is shut off, SDG&E crews will begin the restoration process as soon as conditions improve and it is safe to do so.
- We may open a Community Resource Center (CRC) in your area for charging small electronics, water, snacks, and real-time outage information.
- Consider preparing for an extended outage and reviewing your emergency plan with your household
- If you have a backup generator, ensure it's safe and has enough fuel to last several days. Generator safety tips are available at sdge.com/Generator.
- If you rely on uninterrupted power for your health and safety, or need assistance, please know additional support may be available by dialing 211 or 858-300-1211 for Video Relay Service (VRS).
- We work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible once high fire risk conditions have subsided. However, if hazardous conditions continue or significant repairs are required, outages may last longer.
- If you see a downed power line, do not touch it. Assume it is energized and extremely dangerous. Report it immediately by calling 911.
For more information on estimated restoration times, resources, locations of nearby CRCs, and where to access electricity when a CRC is closed, visit sdge.com/Ready. Details can also be found in the Alerts by SDG&E app, or by calling us at 800-411-7343. We will notify you again if we shut power off. Please keep in mind that weather could affect the timing of power shutoffs, and unanticipated wind-related outages are also possible.
We understand being without power can be difficult, and we’re here to support you. Thank you for your patience as we work to protect the region from wildfires. Please continue to monitor your email for more information.
